Before the deadline set by the Manipur Governor for weapon surrender, various arms, ammunitions, and gear continued to be surrendered yesterday at four police stations, namely Imphal, Irilbung, Singjamei, and Heingang Police Stations in Manipur’s valley district.
Over 20 weapons, along with ammunition and gear, were also surrendered yesterday at the four police stations, apart from the weapons handed over by ‘Arambai Tenggol’ at the 1st MR Campus.
At Imphal Police Station in Imphal West District, surrendered items included four SLRs with twelve magazines, four .303 rifles with two magazines, one INSAS rifle with nine magazines, one carbine with two magazines, one 2-inch mortar with two shells, ten BP plates, two magazine pouches, three BP vests, 108 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, one scope, five handheld communication sets, one set charger, one adapter, six slings, and one tube launching shell.
At Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East, security forces received one country-made rifle marked K23, two single-barrel guns, seven rounds of 12-bore ammunition, six helmets, and two BP jackets without plates.
At Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West District, the surrendered items included one SLR with a magazine, one .303 MKIII with a magazine, two SBBL guns, three rounds of SLR ammunition, two 36 HE hand grenades, twelve BP jackets, nine helmets, seventeen BP plates, fourteen gas gun shells, twenty-eight shotgun cartridge shells, one green smoke grenade, two .303 rifle foresights, six walkie-talkie sets with four chargers, one scope, and one shield.
At Heingang Police Station in Imphal East, surrendered items included one .303 modified rifle with a magazine, one country-made sniper, one .22 revolver, one INSAS magazine, five BP light fiber with green cover, two BP iron with black color and camouflage, seven headgear light, one riot headgear, ten .22 ammunition live rounds, twelve .38 revolver ammunition live rounds, six .45 ammunition live rounds, sixty-three AK ammunition live rounds, nine sniper 30.06 spring live rounds, nineteen 8mm ammunition live rounds, one 7.62 ammunition live round, five M16 ammunition live rounds, one Pompi cartridge, one HD ballistic cartridge, seven stun empty cases, one Chinese hand grenade with detonator, two Indian hand grenades with detonators, two Baofeng wireless handsets, two tear smoke shell soft nose, two stun grenades, six smoke bombs, five men’s camouflage pants, four men’s camouflage shirts, two men’s camouflage t-shirts, and one camouflage cap.
