The Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Government of Manipur, in collaboration with the TA & Hills Department and the Manipur State Film Development Society, has announced the upcoming “Tribal Frames Manipur: National Tribal Film Festival,” scheduled to be held from November 12 to 15, 2025, in Imphal.
Supported by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, the festival aims to promote dialogue, learning, and cultural exchange among tribal filmmakers and animators from Manipur and across the country.
According to an official notification issued on November 3, the event will be non-competitive and will provide a platform for showcasing tribal cinema while facilitating interaction and collaboration among filmmakers. Delegates interested in attending have been invited to submit their biodata via email to [email protected] with the subject line “Delegates: Tribal Frames Manipur.” The last date for submission is November 7, while selected participants will be informed by November 9, 2025.
