MIU Scholar’s Book Gains International Recognition

Manipur International University (MIU) has congratulated Dr. Sanabam Gunajit Mangang, Assistant Professor at the university, after his book Foreign Policy and International Affairs: A Determinant of Domestic Policy (ISBN: 978-81-19997-27-5), published by Sunmarg Publisher and Distributors, received global academic recognition.
The book has been listed in WorldCat, the world’s largest online library catalog, and included as a reference text at The Ohio State University in Columbus, USA. MIU described this achievement as a notable milestone showcasing the academic contributions emerging from Manipur on an international platform.
In his work, Dr. Gunajit challenges the traditional Realist Theory in international relations, which argues that national interest determines a nation’s foreign policy. His study offers a counter-perspective, suggesting that foreign policy and international affairs can, in turn, shape domestic policy.
The book draws from the ideas of thinkers including Niccolò Machiavelli, Thomas Hobbes, E. H. Carr, and Hans Morgenthau, while also examining India’s Look East and Act East Policy and its impact on domestic policymaking.
MIU stated that Dr. Sanabam Gunajit Mangang’s contribution has brought pride to the academic community of Manipur and the country.
