In a major initiative to provide healthcare to underserved communities, Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) will conduct a three-day mega medical camp across nine locations in Manipur from October 5 to 7, 2025.
The outreach programme will cover both valley and hill districts, focusing particularly on internally displaced persons and residents of remote areas. Medical teams will be deployed at Lilong, Moreh, Chakpikarong and Sajik on October 5; Tuibong, Pallel and Joupi on October 6; and Kangpokpi, Hiangtem Lamka and Sugnu on October 7.
A total of 31 medical professionals, including 23 specialist doctors and eight associates, will arrive in Manipur between October 4 and 8 to participate in the initiative. They will provide free consultations, screenings, and treatments tailored to the needs of each community. For effective implementation, the doctors have been divided into three specialized teams, each tasked with covering designated locations.
The camp will feature a wide range of specialists, including experts in medicine, gynaecology, orthopaedics, dermatology, paediatrics, ENT, physiology, general medicine, and dentistry. This diverse medical lineup aims to ensure that people in different parts of the state receive targeted and quality healthcare services.
Officials stated that the programme reflects the commitment of Assam Rifles and the IMA to safeguard the health and well-being of the people of Manipur. They added that beyond addressing urgent healthcare needs, the outreach is also expected to strengthen goodwill and unity among communities.
Local residents have been urged to avail themselves of the opportunity to access free expert medical care during the three-day camp.
