Manipur Police intensifies crackdown on Motor Vehicle offences

As part of its ongoing effort to ensure road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the Manipur Police continues its relentless drive against motor vehicle violations across the state.
On 24th July 2025, police personnel issued 47 challans to various offenders for violating provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The total amount collected in fines stood at Rs. 48,500. These penalties were levied for a range of violations, reflecting the department’s firm stance on maintaining road discipline.
A day earlier, on 23rd July 2025, the police detained 13 vehicles for breaching multiple traffic rules. Offences included driving without valid Registration Certificates (RC) and operating vehicles without number plates, both of which pose risks to identification and public safety. Additionally, tinted films were removed from 16 vehicles found in violation of the norms prescribed under the law.
