Former JNIMS Director Dr. Laishram Deben inaugurated the Maichou Khongnangthaba Maheikol Annual Sports Festival 2025 today.
The opening ceremony was attended by Waikhom Leikai Athletic Club President Kh. Munan, Secretary N. Mohen, W. Hemochandra, Lai Committee President Kh. Khambaton, Secretary Yurembam Rajen, Waikhom Leikai Meira Paibi President Ibesana, and Secretary Laisham Chaoba, among other dignitaries. As a mark of respect, a floral tribute was paid to the photo of Maichou Taret, followed by a march-past parade by the students.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Laishram Deben highlighted the importance of sports and education in shaping a bright future for students. He stated that despite various challenges in society, students must focus on self-discipline, education, and extracurricular activities for holistic growth. He also emphasized that participation in such events fosters a spirit of sportsmanship and determination, which is essential for future success.
Dr. Deben encouraged parents to support their children’s education and extracurricular activities. He further announced that the school would provide free uniforms and essential study materials to underprivileged students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their learning.
