Imphal, Feb 15:

Hundreds of Nagas from across Northeast India gathered in Katomei, Senapati district, to celebrate Lui-Ngai-Ni 2025, the grandest festival of the Naga communities.
Organized by the United Naga Council and hosted by the Naga People’s Organisation, the two-day festival heralds the seed-sowing season under the theme “Celebrating Naga Cultural Fusion.”
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the festival flag by United Naga Council President Ng. Lorho, followed by traditional horn blowing by the Maram Union. The opening ritual expressed gratitude for past blessings and prayed for prosperity in the coming seasons.
The event featured traditional dances by the Joint Tribal Council and a folk fusion performance by B Rakoveine and a celebratory party added to the festivities. Former minister Khashim Vashum was also present at the opening ceremony.
