The Lions Club of Imphal honoured its member, Lion Dr. Akham Bonbirdhwaja Singh, for being awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the World Environment Protection Commission, New Delhi. The prestigious degree was conferred on 20th November 2024 during a ceremony held at Teen Murti Bhavan, New Delhi.
Lion Dr. Bonbirdhwaja, who chairs the Club’s Environment Committee, expressed deep gratitude to the Lions Club for the felicitation. He highlighted the recognition of Lions International by the awarding organization for its significant contributions to community welfare through selfless service. He further emphasized that environmental conservation is one of the eight key focus areas of Lions International, showcasing the organization’s commitment to global sustainability.
As part of the felicitation, Past District Governor Lion H. Manikumar Singh, MJF, presented the International President’s Pin to Lion Dr. Bonbirdhwaja, adding to the honor of the occasion.
Lion Dr. Bonbirdhwaja is a distinguished retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, having served as Conservator of Forests in Manipur’s Forest Department.
