Lilong Haoreibi College hosts 3rd Inter-College Debate on War on Drugs

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Literary Club of Lilong Haoreibi College recently organized the 3rd Inter-College Debate Competition at the college’s multipurpose hall. The debate’s theme was in line with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2024, focusing on “War on Drugs’ Campaign is the only means to end Drug Trafficking in Manipur.”
Key attendees included A. Dhaneshwor Singh, Head of the Department of Physics, Prof. Md. A. Sattar Singh, Principal of Lilong Haoreibi College, and Dr. Md. Baharuddin Shah, Associate Professor and IQAC Coordinator of GP Women’s College, Imphal. The chief guest was Youth Against Drugs and Alcohol Manipur’s General Secretary, Aribam Aziz, who emphasized the severe impact of drug abuse in Manipur and highlighted the need for comprehensive efforts to tackle the issue.
The debate competition aimed to engage and educate students about the drug menace and its consequences, promoting awareness and proactive measures among youth. Prof. Md. A. Sattar Singh stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and civil society organizations to effectively combat drug trafficking. Fourteen contestants participated in the competition.
