The Khundrakpam Kendra Youths Organisation (KHUKYO) launched a scathing satirical attack on the BJP-led government, accusing it of failing to safeguard the rights and interests of the people of Manipur.
In a statement issued by its president, Leishangthem Sanjit, the organisation sarcastically claimed it was prepared to provide “medical treatment” for the alleged “brain-related ailments” of Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh, his Cabinet colleagues and ruling party MLAs, describing the remarks as a metaphor for what it called their lack of political judgment and leadership.
KHUKYO alleged that the government’s inability to understand human, civil and political rights had reduced it to a “robotic government” detached from public concerns. It also criticised Minister Govindas Konthoujam, accusing him of showing indifference to issues concerning Manipur and sarcastically suggesting that he too required similar “treatment.”
Calling for public introspection, the organisation said political leaders derive their mandate from the people and urged those in power to demonstrate courage, wisdom and accountability in serving society.
