Kabui (Inpui) Karingei Festival celebrated

The Kabui (Inpui) Karingei Festival was celebrated today at Changangei Kabui Khul in Imphal West, organised by the Kabui (Inpui) Karingei Festival Committee.
Former Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while B. Ashing Kabui, Chairman of the Inpui Kabui Indigenous Custom & Cultural Council (IKICCC), presided over the event.
A number of dignitaries and community leaders attended the festival as Guests of Honour. Among them were MLAs S. Kunjakishor Singh and Dr. S. Ranjan Singh, along with leaders representing several organisations including the Inpui Naga Union, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation, Meitei Pangal Council, Manipur Students Federation, All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association and other civil society bodies.
The programme featured important cultural and traditional rituals such as the oblation of holy wine to the Supreme God, extraction of sacred fire, lighting of candles and traditional invocations. Cultural dances, traditional songs and keynote addresses were also presented as part of the celebration. Several guests delivered speeches highlighting unity, heritage and community harmony.
