Jiribam farmers empowered with hybrid vegetable seeds

The Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, IAS, in collaboration with the District Horticulture & Soil Conservation Department, distributed Rabi season vegetable hybrid seeds to selected beneficiaries in a simple programme held at the DC Office Complex, Jiribam.
The seeds distributed included Garden Pea, Onion, Cabbage, Cauliflower, and Knolkhol, and were given to around 20 selected farmers from Jiribam and Borobekra Sub-Division under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) scheme.
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar encouraged the farmers to boost quality vegetable production in the district and make it self-reliant in food production. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the hybrid seeds to increase crop yield and improve the livelihood of farmers.
The programme was attended by senior officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Th. Manoranjan Singh, MCS; BDO Borobekra RK. Sailash Singh; BDO Jiribam T. Janeshwor Singh; CDO Jiribam Y. Pradip Singh; SDAO Jiribam Naem Shah; and other officials from the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department.
