The 15th Foundation Day of Images of Manipur was celebrated with an elaborate ceremony, featuring award distributions and a specialized workshop on Meitei Eshei (Laining-Leechat). The event, supported by a grant from Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, was held at LTYDO Community Hall, near MM Gas Dodown in Imphal West district.
The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures. Thongam Goshe Meitei, the Founder President of Seisak Seitam Sanglel and an AIR-approved artist, Nandi Soibam, Advisor of Images of Manipur, and Maisnam Shivdutta Luwang, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, President, and Guest of Honour, respectively.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for 2024, which was conferred upon Okram Manglem and Sarangthem Tharonganbi Leima for their significant contributions to Meitei Eshei.
In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Awards, Star Awards were presented to distinguished individuals in various fields: Shamulailatpam Aruna Devi for Nat Sankirtan at PHIDAM Nagamapal Singjubam Leirak, Dr. Pukharambam Tejpati Devi for Jagoi at Cosmopolitan Cultural Institute, Sanjoy Konjengbam for Pung, and Raj Nongthongbam for anchoring at SK TV.
