Hand grenade found 

A hand grenade was discovered early Friday morning at the gate of a private residence in Koirengei Nepali Basti under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district.
According to reports, the explosive device was spotted around 5:30 AM at the gate of Gurumayum Kanak Kumar (40), son of G. Brojendro of Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai, who is currently residing in Koirengei Nepali Basti. Kanak Kumar is employed with the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
On receiving information, a team from Heingang Police Station, along with a Bomb Disposal Squad, immediately rushed to the location. The grenade was safely retrieved and neutralized around 8:55 AM.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident, and an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the motive and identity of the miscreant(s) responsible.
