The 8th Annual General Body Meeting of the Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur (STDCM) was held at the Conference Hall of Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal, with Working President Lt. Col. L. Lokendra Singh presiding.
STDCM General Secretary K. Bhogendrajit said the meeting unanimously adopted the committee’s annual report and statement of accounts. The meeting also unanimously endorsed the office-bearers for the 2026–28 term, with Lt. Col. L. Lokendra Singh continuing as president following the demise of Dhiraj Yumnam and K. Bhogendrajit as general secretary, along with other office-bearers, wing convenors and executive members.
He said the General Body also empowered the Executive Committee to make necessary organisational changes and fill vacancies arising from personal circumstances or other unavoidable reasons.
Bhogendrajit said the committee would review its activities in view of the prevailing situation in Manipur and, after necessary assessment, continue pursuing its demand with the Manipur Government for the inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the Scheduled Tribe list.
