A free oral and dental health check-up camp was organised on Thursday at the Kodompokpi Relief Camp by the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, under the ISPPD’s “Nanhi Muskaan – 2025” outreach programme. The camp was held in collaboration with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, ECONETWORK Manipur, Samagra Shiksha and the Education Department, Government of Manipur.
The initiative aimed at promoting oral health and improving the quality of life among children and adolescents residing in the relief camp.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Bhoomika Wairokpam, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry. Awareness sessions on communicable diseases and oral hygiene were conducted, along with demonstrations on proper brushing and handwashing techniques.
Toothbrushes, clothes, refreshments, books, notebooks, colouring materials and stationery items were distributed to the children. A total of 72 books were donated by “Books and Coffee,” Singjamei Thokchom Leikai, along with contributions from the faculty and students of Dental College, RIMS.
