DC Kamjong briefs media on Sardar@150 commemoration

The Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter, briefed the media today regarding the upcoming activities under the nationwide Sardar@150 observance, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The briefing was held at the Camp Office, Kamjong District, Imphal, in presence of the Superintendent of Police, Kamjong, ADC Kamjong, SDOs, district level officers and media representatives.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the initiative seeks to honour Sardar Patel’s extraordinary role in unifying India and to reinvigorate patriotism, civic responsibility and youth participation across the district. He emphasized that the commemoration aims to foster national integration, promote community service and inspire young citizens to actively contribute towards building a Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat through meaningful engagement in nation-building activities.
The DC informed that the Kamjong District Administration, in coordination with Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Kamjong, and departments including ADC Ukhrul, ZEO, CMO, DPO, DYSO and DIPR, will organize District-level Padyatras (Unity Run) along with supporting activities such as essay and quiz competitions, yoga sessions, cleanliness drives and de-addiction awareness programmes to mark the occasion.
