CRPF to organise 10-km marathon, cycling event

The 86 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Lamphelpat, Imphal, under the aegis of the Inspector General, Manipur-Nagaland Sector, CRPF, will organise a 10-km marathon and a 10-km cycling event in Manipur as part of the Khelo India initiative, “Sports for Peace and Development.”

The 10-km marathon will be held on September 5 at Pinjang and Noney in Noney district, while the 10-km cycling event is scheduled for September 9 in Imphal.

According to the CRPF, the initiative is aimed at promoting peace, development, physical fitness and a healthy society through sports. It seeks to encourage youths and members of the local community to participate actively in sports and physical activities while promoting the values of peace, unity, discipline, fitness and social harmony.

Both events will be open to eligible participants aged 18 years and above.

The organisers have announced cash prizes of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 4,000 for the first, second and third-place winners respectively in each event.

The first 100 registered participants in each marathon event will also receive event T-shirts.
