Imphal, July 5:

The Coordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand, representing a coalition of educational associations including AMCTA, AMRPSWA, MGHSLWA, UARSOM, AMSGO, AMESTA, CESM, COTA, PSDC, CASA, AMTEI, AMSSTA, AIMS, and DESAM, has convened today to highlight the urgent need for creating disturbance-free educational environments in Manipur.
The committee discussed the detrimental impact of interference in educational institutions, highlighting instances of corruption, nepotism, and favoritism that undermine the integrity of the education system. They expressed concerns over government policies that fail to address these issues effectively, impacting the quality and fairness of education delivery.
During the meeting, specific demands were raised, including the need to have at the least 220 working days, and the removal of bureaucratic barriers hindering educational reforms. The committee stressed the necessity of transparent and merit-based practices in educational governance to ensure equitable opportunities for all students.
They called upon government authorities to prioritize the establishment of disturbance-free educational zones, free from external influences that compromise educational standards.
