Congress Workers meet held

A joint congress workers’ meet of Awangkhul and Haochong segments of the Indian National Congress was organized at Khumji-5 in Noney district on Monday in support of Samuel Jendai, intending INC candidate for the 53-Tamenglong (ST) Assembly Constituency.

The block congress workers’ meet organized by Block Congress Committee, Tamenglong was attended by Congress leaders and workers, social workers, youth and women’s wing leaders and village authority chairman/secretaries of the two segments.

Several leaders spoke at the meet, pledging to work together for the victory of Jendai in the Assembly elections due next year, expressing confidence about Jendai as an aspirant and as someone who could represent the constituency.

Former leaders and workers of BJP and NPP also attended the meet and became part of the Congress, supporting Jendai.

In his address to the meet, Jendai welcomed all the participants and requested the Congress workers to work together for the development and change in the constituency. Jendai said that he will continue his effort for the overall development of 53-Tamenglong (ST) AC and address pending issues.
