Imphal, Oct 4:

Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) has expressed strong condemnation to the serving of show-cause notice to Dr. N. Sanatomba, for expressing his opinion with the liquor legalization while speaking at a debating competition at MU.
A statement said that the showcase notice was served to suppress the freedom of speech and expression amidst protest against September 20 state cabinet decision for lifting of banned on liquors by various organization. It said that, earlier too there were reports of intimidation from the government side to whoever spoke against any government decision during discussion programme at various TV Channels. If there is no room for the voice of dissent to any government decision in a democratic country then the state will not be able to move forward.
The CADA said that when political parties members spoke any anti people statement the government remain silent.
