Blood, organ donation camp held at RIMS Imphal

A voluntary blood donation-cum-organ donation pledge camp was held at the Blood Centre of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences under the initiative of the District Administration Bishnupur.
The programme, organised under the theme “In Father’s Memory, Saving Lives”, marked the 11th death anniversary of Rajkumar Nilamani Singh, father of Dr. R.K. Romila Devi, Chairperson of the Women Committee of the Indian Red Cross Society Bishnupur District Branch.
The camp was jointly organised by IRCS Bishnupur District Branch along with New Life Foundation Thamnapokpi and other organisations, including the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Organ Transplant Programme of RIMS.
During the programme, Irengbam Jugeshwar and Huirem Mangi Singh pledged whole body donation, while Moirangthem Ibohanbi Meitei pledged organ donation. Volunteers and members of participating organisations also donated blood.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to donors in recognition of their contributions.
