A special awareness programme on skill development schemes was conducted today at Kodompokpi Sports Complex for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), as part of a focused initiative to support their rehabilitation and livelihood.
The session was led by key officials including N. Gojendro, Director of Manipur Society for Skill Development (MSSD); Zimik, State Engagement Officer; Th. Subhash Kumar, Additional Director of Employment, Manipur; and Bobby, Chief Operating Officer (Skills), DDUGKY. Representatives from various Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) were also present.
The programme highlighted a range of government-supported training opportunities under schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY), and ITI courses. The objective was to create awareness among the displaced population and equip them with the knowledge to pursue skill-based training and employment opportunities.
A large number of IDPs attended the event and showed strong interest in enrolling for various skill development programmes. Officials assured participants of continued support in accessing training, securing placements, and rebuilding their livelihoods.
