Attack on coordinator’s residence wouldn’t be taken lightly: COCOMI

IT News
Imphal, June 8:

In a disturbing development, armed men descended upon the residence of COCOMI Coordinator Somorendro Thokchom on the night of June 5. This marked the second such incident within a month, following a similar attack on May 8, 2024, at around 11:00 pm.
The motives behind these targeted attacks remain shrouded in mystery, as there has been no prior enmity reported between any organization and Thokchom Somorendro who is Coordinator of COCOMI. The repeated assaults have raised concerns among the community, prompting calls for immediate action to address the escalating violence.
In response to these acts of aggression, COCOMI has vehemently condemned the attacks, urging the perpetrators to cease their destructive activities. Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman, the Media Coordinator for COCOMI, emphasized the detrimental impact of such actions, warning that they only serve to sow division and discord within Manipur.
