The camp is being organised under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in collaboration with Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Takyel and Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) and ADIP schemes. Special assessment facilities for visually impaired persons have also been arranged.
Speaking on the occasion, Maheshwar Thounaojam, National Secretary of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), said many welfare schemes launched by the Centre and State governments fail to reach deserving beneficiaries due to lack of awareness.
