Volunteers of the All Manipur United Club Organisation (AMUCO) and the newly formed Anti Drug Campaign Bishnupur district , which head quarter is at Ningthoukhong have rounded up 27 substance abusers on March 17 from North AOC area and on March 18, the volunteers rounded up 8 substance users from Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district with assistance from the Imphal Police station personnel.
A statement of the AMUCO said that all the 27 substance abusers were kept for treatment at various rehabilitation center in consultation with the United Rehabilitation Center (URC). It added that the ussers were kept at various centers under URC and has been undergoing treatment without taking any fees. As the center could be facing difficulties while feeding the users the AMUCO today distributed edible items to the rehab centers where the users are treating without charging any fees.
