Anurag Bajpai, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) & Head of Forest Force and Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce & Industries and Tribal Affairs & Hills), conducted a comprehensive review of development projects in Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts. The review meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Churachandpur and was attended by senior officials from the departments of Forests, TCI, and Tribal Affairs.
Bajpai stressed the need to boost local economic activities and encourage entrepreneurs to utilize locally available raw materials. He called for convergence in implementation of departmental schemes and reviewed projects under DAJGUA, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), 15th Finance Commission grants, and those undertaken by the Churachandpur Autonomous District Council.
In the TCI sector, he reviewed the progress of the Churachandpur Industrial Estate, land allotment for an industrial estate in Pherzawl, and the implementation of PM Vishwakarma, PMEGP, and handloom and textile cluster projects. For the Forest Department, massive bamboo plantations, marketing of bamboo rhizomes, and upgradation of Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) into micro and small enterprises were reviewed.
Bajpai also visited field locations including the CcPur Industrial Estate, Vana Nursery, Handloom Cluster at Koite Village, and the VDVK outlet at Tuibong. He expressed concern over encroachment and damage to the Industrial Estate’s administrative block and instructed immediate repairs. Materials under the Green India Mission were distributed to JFMCs and VDVKs during a programme at Synod Hall. Readiness for Van Mahotsav 2025 and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 was also assessed.
