7-Day Skill Development Programme concludes, Empowering Farmers with Aquaculture Technologies

The 7-day skill development programme aimed at enhancing livelihood security through various aquaculture technologies concluded successfully on Monday, 2024, at the Education Centre, CAU, Imphal. Professor Ph. Rampet Sharma, Director Extension, CAU, Imphal, graced the event as the chief guest, alongside Professor L Nabachandra Singh from the Department of Agronomy, COA, CAU, Imphal, as the guest of honor.
Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction, and LA, as well as Deputy Dean of COA, CAU, Imphal, presided over the valedictory function of the programme, which focused on imparting skills in various agricultural technologies crucial for livelihood security.
The event, organized by the Multi-Technology Testing Centre and Vocational Training Centre (MTTC & VTC), COA, CAU, received funding from the Indian Institute of Oilseed Research (IIOR), Hyderabad. Dr. Gayatri Khanggarak Pam and Dr. Khumukcham Stina, the organizing secretaries, welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude towards the farmers for their participation.
The programme, tailored especially for farmers, aimed to equip them with essential skills in various agricultural technologies to bolster their income and secure their livelihoods. Participants received training in a range of techniques including mushroom production, mushroom spawn preparation, composting, bee rearing, biofertilizer preparation, nursery management, candle making, budding of various fruits, grafting crops, flower propagation techniques, agro-tourism, and oilseed cultivation and extraction.
