The Department of Clinical Psychology, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organized a two-day State Level Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme on the theme “Identifying and Assessing Neurodevelopmental Conditions and Disruptive Behaviour” today, at Jubilee Hall, RIMS, Imphal.
The inaugural session was graced by Professor G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, as the Chief Guest; Dr.Sameeta Ng., Head, Department of Clinical Psychology, RIMS, Imphal, as the President; Professor N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal; and Professor L. Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academic), RIMS, Imphal, as the Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the event, Professor G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, said that the first CRE programme organized by the Department of Clinical Psychology was a proud moment for RIMS. He described the theme on neurodevelopmental conditions and disruptive behaviour as timely and vital, emphasizing the importance of early detection and multidisciplinary care. He also praised RIMS’s strong Clinical Psychology Department, comparable to NIMHANS, and announced plans to establish a dedicated Autism Clinic.
The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and clinical competencies of professionals working in the field of mental health and rehabilitation, with a particular focus on the assessment and management of neurodevelopmental and disruptive behaviour disorders.
