150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel observed

The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was observed on August 29 at Chanura Odeum, Khurai Chairenthong, Imphal East, under the Centenary and Anniversary Celebration Scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The programme was organised by Konsam Jugindro and Akashini Foundation, Khurai Heigrumakhong.

Social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram attended the function as Chief Guest, while retired professor and GURUSAHSAN secretary K Rameshwar Singh presided over the programme. WPSO and Assistant State Mission Director (NBM), Government of Manipur, N Somorendro Singh attended as Guest of Honour.

The programme highlighted the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to India’s freedom movement and nation-building, particularly his role in integrating the princely states into the Indian Union.
