ZUF reiterates allegation of NSCN-K (Niki)-NSCN-IM joint operations against it

The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has rejected the November 5 statement of the NSCN/GPRN-K (Niki) group, reiterating its allegation that the latter has joined hands with the NSCN-IM to conduct joint operations against the ZUF in the Zeliangrong region.

In a counter-statement issued on Sunday, ZUF Secretary, Information and Publicity, Louis Gangmei, claimed that the Zeliangrong regions of NSCN/GPRN-K (Niki) and NSCN-IM signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 30, 2026, following which they allegedly began joint operations against the Front.

Citing three incidents, the ZUF claimed that Tadulung Kamei of the Niki group was injured in a confrontation on October 6, while NSCN-IM’s Lt. Ringteneine Riamé and Kamson Gang’s Lt. Aihung Khumba were killed in separate confrontations on October 28 and November 4, respectively.

The Front maintained that the incidents substantiated its allegation of joint operations and accused the Niki group’s Zeliangrong Region of entering into the alliance without consulting the wider organisation.

Reacting to the group’s reported warning of retaliation, the ZUF said it would respond to any threat with an “equal and just reaction”. It also accused the NSCN-IM of pursuing power, wealth and recognition at the expense of the broader Naga cause.

The ZUF urged the Naga public not to be misled by what it termed manipulative statements and remain committed to the historical and political aspirations of the Naga people.
