Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) today claims to have gunned down a cadre of NSCN-IM at Taosang Khunou in Tamenglong district on march 30. A statement of the outfit identified that deceased NSCN –IM cadre as Joshua Thangal.
In a press communiqué by L. Longmei, Info. & Pub. Secy, ZUF, the outfit said that the encounter took place between them and the NSCN-IM cadre when they were on regular foot patrol at the area on that day. It further claimed to have cause fatalities to several others of NSCN-IM cadres. The ZUF also alleged that the NSCN-IM were sharing the temporary camp of Gurkha Regiment which is station at Taosang in recent past. It alleged the the Indian security force for joining hands with NSCN-IM in hunting the cadres of the ZUF.
