A team of Imphal West District Police Commando unit arrested one active member of ZUF (Zeliangrong United Front) organisation, namely, Meinguiliu Gangmei (28) wife of Akham Gangmei of Chingkhonglong Village, Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong District presently staying at Noney Bazaar from Wahengbam Leikai Jiri parking area on October 18. A police statement said she was involved in many prejudicial activities like kidnapping of transporter along NH-37. The statement further said that the lady cadre along with her associates including her husband kidnapped two betel leaf traders along NH-37 and extorted a huge amount of money recently. Police are investigating on the matter.
