Zou Women Conference today staged sit-in-protest at Churachandpur Light House road against disrespect of the court order that acquitted Lukhosei Zou who had been arrested in connection with multi crore drug haul case.
A protestor said that Lukhosei Zou was arrested and detained for nearly 2 and half years but after Court found him innocent he has been released. The spokesperson of the Zou Women Conference said that Lukhosei Zou is their leader and the kind of harassment given by some civil society organizations to appeal to a higher court against the release is a humiliation to both the Zou Community as well as the Law Court.
“We denounced the CSOs and some political parties which are giving pressure for appeal to higher court against the release of Lukhosei Zou, the spokesperson said.
He further added that any more harassment of such type to their leader Lukhosei Zou will not be tolerated.
