Sucheta Khumukcham, the Zonal Education Officer for Zone 1, led the inauguration of an event today aimed at promoting handmade items crafted by children and parents residing in the relief camp at Meitei Langol, Leima Khullen Leikai, Imphal West. The event, organized by the Zonal Education Office, Zone 1, in collaboration with the relief camp’s management committee, featured numerous stalls offering a variety of handcrafted goods. The sales event will conclude tomorrow.
With over 10 stalls set up for the occasion, attendees had the opportunity to explore and purchase a wide range of handmade items. The assortment included candles, incense sticks, cloth bags, woolen purses, paper baskets, bottle art, Meiphu (charcoal heaters), electric heaters, dream catchers, wall hangings, hand fans, ngarubak, filter covers, potli bags, cane baskets, bamboo mora, and more.
The event not only provided a platform for the children and parents of the relief camp to showcase their creative talents but also highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Zonal Education Office and the relief camp’s management committee in supporting the community’s economic empowerment. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the diverse range of handmade goods available for sale and showed their support by purchasing items crafted by the residents of the relief camp.
