Zeliangrong statehood talks with centre reported to be at advanced stage

The Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee (ZSWC) reported that it had held the seventh round of political talks with the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi on August 29. The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) stated that the dialogue on Zeliangrong political issues had reached an advanced stage.
The ZUF informed that its Chairman, Pou Jenchui Kamei, conveyed a message in connection with the 94th Haipou Jadonang Martyr’s Day, during which floral tributes and homage were paid to Haipou Jadonang.
It was also stated that during the talks, both sides discussed key issues related to the drafting of a memorandum of settlement. A preliminary draft was presented and examined point by point, and it was indicated that the discussions concluded on a positive note with the possibility of further refining the terms and modalities to be framed in the upcoming rounds of talks.
The ZUF mentioned that the next rounds of dialogue would be more intensive and thorough, with the aim of finalizing an acceptable framework of settlement for the Zeliangrong people.
