Imphal, April 02:

The killing of three youths by unknown gunmen at Zeliiangrong Lamhai Namdi village in Nagaland on March 22, still heat the wounds of Zelianrong community as state government authority had failed to arrest any of the gunmen even after 10 days.
An Emergency Meeting convened by ZeliangrongBaudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) that was held on March, 30, 2021 at Peren District, Nagaland which was attended by leaders of Zeliangrong representing various Zeliangrong Civil Societies and Organizations hailing from Zeliangrong territories of the three States has resolved to demand the Govt. of India to immediately intervene into the matter by directing the National Investigating Agency (NIA) to probe into the ugly incident for impartial, speedy and effective investigation for delivery of justice.
The Zeliangrong CSOs said that those perpetrators are well trained gunmen who were armed with automatic sophisticated weapons.
The meeting took serious note of the lack of will on the part of the Govt. of India and Nagaland Govt. in arresting the criminals even after the lapse of more than ten days of the ugly incident.
“Leaving the killers to roam freely even after so many days of the ugly incident is a glaring sign of inability of the Govt. of India and Nagaland Govt. in arresting the perpetrators which is evident of insensitivity, insincerity and lack of commitment into the matter”, a statement of the Media and publicity cell of the ZB said.
The statement said, “It is the topmost priority, duty and responsibility of Govt. of India and Nagaland State Govt. to ensure the safety and security of its citizen but killing of three innocent Zeliangrongs at their own village land by the well trained gunmen with automatic and sophisticated weapons cannot be ruled out of pre-planned and orchestrated at the high level of conspiracy. The degree of crime perpetrated upon the three innocent villagers of Zeliangrongs Lamhai Namdi village within their own village land is intolerable”, the Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) statement said.
