Yengkhom Netramani College of Nursing (YN College of Nursing), Kakching, held its first graduation ceremony for students who successfully completed the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Nursing programme.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal, Prof. Nongmaithem Rajmuhon attended the function as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Yengkhom Ashok Kumar, Managing Director of Yengkhom Netramani College of Nursing, attended the programme as President. Dr. Yumnam Jayanta, Executive Director of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal, and T. Shantikumar, Controller of Examinations, Manipur University, Canchipur, attended as Guests of Honour. Prof. Thoudam Nandarani, National Vice President of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), North East Region, and Prof. Gurumayum Martina, Principal of the college, were present as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rajmuhon lauded the dedication and efforts of Dr. Ashok Kumar and Dr. Jeevanlata in establishing a hospital and several paramedical institutes in South Manipur. He said their contribution to strengthening healthcare education in the region was commendable.
He observed that the nursing profession, once perceived as having low social status, has evolved into one of the most respected and dignified careers. Calling upon the graduating students to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, he urged them to serve society with sincerity, compassion and dedication.
As part of the ceremony, Prof. Rajmuhon presented graduation certificates to the first batch of B.Sc. Nursing graduates of the college and wished them success in their professional careers. He also distributed awards to students who secured top positions in each semester of the B.Sc. Nursing programme, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence and to dedicate themselves to the service of humanity.
