Y. Sadananda to speak on Natl. Seminar

Two days long seminar on Contemporary Indian Drama will be organised by Sahitya Academy New Delhi tomorrow on its diamond jubilee celebration at Bengaluru. Mime Theatre Repertory, Imphal, Director, Y. Sadananda Singh will speak on the topic of ‘Actors Speak: Embodying Words.’
In a press statement released today by the Publicity in Charge and Coordinator of the Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Br. Gyaneshwari Devi said that the Director, Y. Sadananda will attend the seminar on Contemporary Indian Drama which will happen from Jan 19 -20 at Gurunanak Bhavan, Bengaluru. The statement further said that Y. Sadananda along with acclaimed film and theatre actor, Naseeruddin Shah, Umashree and Averee Chaurey will speak on the same category of ‘Actors Speak: Embodying Words.’ Sadananda will talk about ‘role of Manipuri traditional arts in the making of the Indian contemporary mime.’ The statement further asserted that the Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory had also attended the Mime festival which was organised by Shrishti Mime Theatre under the sponsorship of Indian Government from Jan 9 to 11 at Jalpaiguri, Bengal. The Repertory had showcased two Mimes; Trash but alive and Mime Stick Dance along with a classical dance, Hari Hira.
