Today,at around 2:30am a team of 43 Assam Rifles/Samtal warrior was on patrol for area domination along Indo-Myanmar border near Border Pillar 76 of Haolenphai Village.
During the area domination patrol , a person came crossing the border suspiciously taking the advantage of wee hours. Seeing movement of man at the border the personnels of Samtal warrior immediately caught the person at the site.
On checking the person and the bag carried by himself, 1lakh 30 thousands numbers of Amphetamine tablets was found hidden in 650 packets which weight 13kg. On the spot the Personnel of 43 Assam Rifles apprehended the person and the Amphetamine tablets. The Assam Rifles team handed over the contraband items and the peddler at Moreh police Station.
The Arrested Person is Mangneo Vaiphei ,24years, S/o: kaileh Vaiphei from Tengnoupal Bazar, Tengnoupal District. And the contraband items may worth 3.90 Crores in International market.
