Imphal, March 22: World Water Day 2017 was observed jointly by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Manipur State Branch and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development (CESD), School of Social Sciences, Manipur University at its centre. Mr. Narendra Ningomba, Vice Chairman of IRCS-Manipur, Dr. Ksh. Anand Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, Manipur University and Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, Director, CESD, MU graced the function as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and President respectively. Dr. Ksh. Anand Singh encouraged the audience to extend humanitarian activities while in need. While delivering the chief guest’s speech, Mr. Narendra Ninogmba emphasized on waste water treatment and recycling the same. Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei in his presidential speech proposed to a adopt a model village where the villagers are aware of judicious use of water and wastewater treatment. He also emphasized on transforming Nambul river water a potable one.
