Professor Nirmala Chongtham, Botany Chandigarh University Ambassador, World Bamboo Organisation today in a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul said that the World Bamboo Workshop for the year 2019 will be held at Imphal from February 4 to 8.
Speaking to media persons, Nirmala said that a power point presentation was presented in the presence of N Biren Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur, Th Shyamkumar Singh, Minister Forest and Environment along with other officials at the Chief Minister Conference Hall where he promised full co-operation from the state of the workshop.
Chief Minister was very enthusiastic at the prospects of the coming workshop made in the field of Bamboo Technology and Architecture will which will generate income and employment for a large number of youths of our state, provide a large numbers of low-cost but respectable houses and opportunity to show case our traditional skills in cane and bamboo works and the opportunity to learn from other parts of the world, she added.
