National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur successfully organized a face-to-face Science Direct AI and Author Workshop titled Publishing with Purpose: Optimal Use of Science Direct and Advanced Manuscript Development Tips under Elsevier’s National Capacity-Building Program.
The programme was held at the Seminar Hall of NIT Manipur.
The session was graced by Prof. D. V. L. N. Somayajulu, Director, NIT Manipur who delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of quality research publications and the effective utilization of digital research platforms.
Prof. Kh. Tomba Singh, Registrar of NIT Manipur also joined the program and interacted with the participants. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Nitin Ghoshal, Ph.D., Customer Success Manager, Elsevier – South Asia, who served as the resource person.
Around 50 faculty and staff members actively participated in the workshop. The interactive session covered a wide range of topics, including identifying research issues, understanding publishing workflows, research metrics, manuscript writing, enhancing research visibility, and the optimal use of Science Direct and Science Direct AI tools. The event also featured an engaging Question Answer session and a quiz to reinforce learning.
The workshop aimed to strengthen research competencies among faculty members and promote best practices in scholarly publishing. The event was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Vidyavati Devi, Assistant Librarian, NIT Manipur.
