Imphal, July 20: Expressing displeasure to the discontinuation of the case hearing of the petition filed by Kh. Ratan against the wanted tag labelled against him, large number of women folk today storm to the Raj Bhavan demanding Governor’s intervention to the declaration of “wanted” to former JCILPS leader Khomdram Ratan at around 1 pm today.
Witness said that at around 1 pm large number of women numbering around 40 to 50 gathered in front of Raj Bhavan stunning the security forces deployed at Raj Bhavan. The women folk shook the gate shouting the security personnel to open the gate. A team of City Police led by its OC Sudhir along with large number of women security rushed the site and intervened the agitators.
Later officials of the Raj Bhavan came out and spoke to the women regarding the demand they are putting up. As the women folk insisted to meet the governor, the officials after taking the governor’s office permission allowed 5 of the representatives to meet the governor.
