District Administration Churachandpur feted women entrepreneurs of the district under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in a solemn programme yesterday at DTC Hall, DC Office here.
In all, five women entrepreneurs were felicitated in the programme. The women entrepreneurs feted today were Boinu Nienghelam of Bijang Gangte Veng; Jesse D of Singhat; L. Florence of Bijang Family Lane; Siandeihniang of Zomi Colony and S. Chongboi Haokip of Koite Village.
Speaking as the Chief Guest of the programme, SP Churachandpur, Amrita Sinha stated that the programme is aimed positively towards recognizing the efforts, appreciating the skills and admiring the risk-taking ability of women in the society.
“Entrepreneurship requires physical, mental, emotional strength, stability to take forward business and the ability to handle the economic risks that are associated with entrepreneurship,” said Sinha. She pointed out that Entrepreneurship is for someone who contributes positively into a sustainable development and sustainable growth of the society which again needs ability to mobilize resources, dealership ability, liaison and everything altogether brought into a common platform.
Pawan Yadav, DC Churachandpur stated that ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’is one of the unique programme and the district administration has recognized successful women entrepreneursand encouraged them to further promote their business.
He also announced that in connection with the International Women’s Day on 8th March,Loan Mela would be organisedfor women vendors under PM SVA Nidhi and various banks counter would be open. He also informed that a resource person from Startup Manipur (Planning Department) will be giving an input on how to become a successful entrepreneur and an awareness programmeon various schemes of MSME will be highlighted which will be further extended till 9th March.
Competitions on photomother-daughter selfie contest and short film contest (video clip of 3-4 minutes) are undergoing and the award will be given on March 8, 2021, added the DC.
Amongst other dignitaries attending the programme included Officer from 2nd AR Singngat; Thangboi Gangte, MCS, ADC I DC Office Churachandpur and S. Khaikhopau Ngaihte, MCS, ADC II, DC Office Churachandpur.
