A woman who was reported missing since 22 February by her family members was found dead today morning at a paddy field.
The missing woman was identified as Nongmaithem (O) Memcha (45) w/o Nongmaithem Shyam of Naharup Pangong, Imphal East.
Her dead body was found by some locals of Samaram at the Samaram paddy field under Thoubal Police Station. A bottle of pesticide was also recovered near the dead body of Memcha.
A case of murder has been registered and investigation has begun regarding the incident by Police.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a woman identified as one Laishram Sophia (23) w/o Laishram Thoiba of Thanga was found hanging from a tree grown at the main gate of her residence last night at around 7pm by family members.
