Will continue serving people regardless of votes – Oinam Lukhoi

Former Minister and BJP Manipur Pradesh Vice-President Oinam Lukhoi on Saturday said he would continue working for the welfare and development of the people irrespective of whether they vote for him.

Lukhoi made the remark while inaugurating the construction of a community hall for the Chingtham and Athokpam clans at Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai in Wangoi Assembly Constituency, after extending financial assistance for the project.

He said public service has remained his priority even after his defeat in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

He claimed that several roads have been blacktopped, community halls, club buildings and Meira Shang structures constructed, and a number of development projects completed or taken up across the constituency.

Stating that development should not be linked to electoral support, Lukhoi said he would continue to undertake welfare and infrastructure projects for the benefit of the people. He also assured that ongoing community hall and club building projects would be completed before the next Assembly election.
