Thoubal, July 20: In an act of looting innocent public a member of 9- Tentha Zila Parishad has been caught embezzling Rs. 380000 from DRDA with false claims of having constructed an overlooping wooden bridge at Tentha. The Zilla parishad member is identified as Laishram Inaocha of Samram. Yambem Inaomacha, president of the bridge management committee, said that the wooden bridge was constructed solely by funds raised from donations from the local people. The bridge was constructed over Wangjing river and started functioning in the early February 2015. He further alleged that the ZP member Laishram Inaomacha had taken the said amount of Rs. 38000 from the govt claiming that he had constructed the bridge under DRDA. He further appeals the related authority to look into the matter, take up necessary actions and award the amount to the people.
