Sanjoo Thangjam, Sub-Editor of The Morning Bell, an Imphal-based daily newspaper, also the Administrator of the WhatsApp Group “Friends of Manipur,” has raised concerns about the creation of a clone WhatsApp Group titled “Friends of Manipur-II.
Sanjoo has filed a complaint at Cyber Cell Imphal over this matter. In his complaint, Sanjoo requests the Cyber Crime Unit to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and take appropriate legal action against the individual responsible for creating the clone group. He also urges the unit to promptly shut down the unauthorized group “Friends of Manipur-II” in the interest of public safety, particularly during the ongoing crisis faced by the State.
On January 1, 2024, at 4:27 PM, an individual identifying themselves as “Momocha” and operating under the mobile number 8798719614, created a clone group named “Friends of Manipur-II.”
