Wanted tag on JCILPS convenor Kh Ratan condemned; protest staged; Former IGP said legal procedure not followed

Imphal, June 4: Former IGP A Romenkumar today said that wanted tagged to JCILPS leader Kh Ratan is null and void as it lacks to follow certain procedures. The retd. IGP while speaking to a local cable TV said that a person cannot be declared wanted unless he is served notice for appearance to a court by declaring as proclaim offender. the process to declare wanted cannot be done in 24 hours he added. Demanding for immediate withdrawal of the baseless charges put upon Khomdram Ratan, the then convenor of Joint Committee of Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) by the state government, members of Singjamei Ima Keithel Apunba Nupi staged a sit-in-protest at Singjamei Bazar today.
Speaking to the media persons, a woman vendor Kh Memma said that while the state is on the verge of chaos with the ILPS issues, it is very unfortunate for the state government on their hasty decision of putting baseless charges upon Khomdram Ratan based on some viral news of social networks.
Singjamei Ima Keithel Apunba Nupi took up the decision to stage the protest against the state government for their hasty decision without giving any second thought about how far the news was genuine, she added.
 Memma also said that the representatives of all political party who went to Delhi yesterday to obtain the assent of the ILPS-related Bills through Prime Minister of India ought to bring the one result which the people of Manipur are awaiting for such a long time.
Unpredictable agitation could erupt if they fail to bring the positive result, Memma asserted.
